VSCO. That's literally it.
So you're probably thinking wow, VSCO, super creative photo editing app Molly! Although it can be basic I think VSCO edits photos really well, it's free, and it's super easy to use. Before I tell you guys about what tools I use on the app I think I should clear up what this app is. If you are apart of the small portion of the population that doesn't know what VSCO is or you live under a rock, here is your super helpful and detailed explanation: it's an app you can download where you edit and post pictures. I have tried to pay money for those ~super cool~ editing apps like Lightroom, but I can honestly say I never figure them or get good at using them, so they end up being a waste of money. So here's an easy way to edit your pictures with VSCO:
Overall, VSCO is pretty self explanatory and there's lots you can do it with it. Comment down below if you also think the highlights tool makes all your pictures look better so I know if it's just me or not lol. Well thanks for reading, subscribe with your email to get updates when I post next!

- The first thing I do when editing a picture is check to see if there's anything super obvious I need to change, for example if it's way too bright, you can adjust the Exposure. Tools like Exposure and Contrast are all labeled and you can slide to choose how much of the effect you want.
- This is something I always do to all of my pictures, turn on the highlights. If you scroll across the editing tools and click on the one that says Tone, there is a sliding bar that is labeled Highlights. I will usually put the highlights to around 5.0, but sometimes more or less depending on if I think the picture needs it. The weird thing is I literally don't know what highlights do... uh I guess add highlights? I think it just makes the picture look softer/warmer without turning up the brightness, and it's literally my magical tool for pictures. Just an ok picture? Turn up the highlights and now it's pretty good. Have a great picture? Turn up the highlights and now it's an amazing picture. (That also could be totally false and I just tell myself that it looks better so I actually like a picture of myself... so I guess the world will never know)
- The last step is adding filters, VSCO has lots of nice filters that you can use for free. So you can never go wrong with the basic C1, I use it sometimes but I would also recommend buying the C pack of filters. The C pack is basically a pack of filters similar to C1 but it goes all the way up to C9, I bought the pack for like $2 and use them all the time. I think it's worth it because the coloring is really nice, I use C6, which is what I used in the above photo (turned it up to about 7.0), and the C7 filters the most.
